Ah. Well then I think
Marc was correct with the name of the HTTP server service name (W3SVC). There
is also a controlling service for all things IIS called IISADMIN.

Unfortunately, it is an
NT4 box, so I don't have that option. Has anyone built a custom service
for IIS on NT4? I don't know what the actual name of the service is to
make a custom service to restart it.

Win2k / 2k3 have a
auto-restart function built right into the services control panel itself - it
gives you the option to define an action on first and second service
failures...

Auto-restarting services
Is there a way to get a
predefined service to auto-restart on failure? I am trying to make it so
that if IIS dies on a server, I can have it start up again automatically.
I am currently monitoring it by using the predefined HTTP service.
Thanks,
