We encountered error message of "Class List could not be obtained" when we
attempt to use Whatsup Exchange plug-in to monitor Exchange 2003 server.
According to Whatsup Gold plug-in help on this error message, it means that
the Whatsup gold access right has been configured correctly, but the
SPECIFIC EXCHANGE parameters cannot be found.
But it is Ok when monitoring Exchange 2000.
I suspect that it is because from Exchange2003 onwards, the WMI Exchange
parameters is available only at "Root\MicrosoftExchangeV2", and no longer in
the "Root\CIMV2".
See the document below:
http://www.winnetmag.com/Files/04/40755/Webtable_01.html
The "Root\CIMV2" class is what the IPSwitch knowledge base instruct us to
configure the WMI access right and thus I suspect it is the WMI class for
which the plug-in attempt to search.
We thought the plug-in should support Exchange 2003, as it says it support
Exchange 2000 and higher.
Does anybody use the plugin to monitor Exchange2003?
Best Regards,
KSTan.
