If you haven't altered the web pages that produce the alarm, they use bgsound that works for Internet Explorer only. A quick and dirty method is for the users that don't want to hear it to use another browser. I've used netscape and mozilla with success, mozilla being a little better.

Conversely, if you want every browser to be bothered, change the bgsound to embed, and make sure they have an audio plug in. On windows, this also has the advantage/disadvantage of still producing the audio alarm when you've minimized the window. So if you want to get WUG off the screen but still want to know when it is alarming, it's an advantage.

Some of our WUG web users do not want to hear the sound alerts, others
do. Does anyone have any solutions in order to supress the sound on the
web interface by user or otherwise?
