Subject: RE: [WhatsUp Forum] whatsup Pro Active DiscoveryHi Folks,
There a few things that did not make it into the first release of the product and a few things that were changed or removed. The things that were deferred are:
Active Discovery - We ran out of time on this one. It will show up in the first service pack which is scheduled for Q1/2005.Debug Log - A good portion of the is available through the event viewer (eventviewer.exe) and still more is available through the new "Test" functionality for the action library. We'll be improving this further over time.Map level permissions - We ran out of time on this one it came in second place to LDAP/Active Directory support. It will show up in in SP1 scheduled for Q1/2005.Passive Monitor - The identification of passive monitors is not complete and will be addressed in a future service pack.Changed Stuff:Discovery Filter by device - This was changed to a post discovery sort rather than an inline filter.Acknowledge feature - This has been superseded by the new maintenance mode.Removed Stuff:Event State Monitor
Cannot Configure Unsolicited Events to trigger ActionsThere are several things that we're still porting over including:SQL Server MonitorExchange MonitorFailover ModuleThese will be available in Q2/2005.
Cheers!

Subject: [Norton AntiSpam] [WhatsUp Forum] whatsup Pro Active Discovery
So here I am, playing with Eval version of Pro.. and I am not able to locate the Active Discovery which exists on WUG8. I must either be missing it, or ...... another patch.
So, does anyone know how I can setup pro to auto discover the maps on specific intervals??
Thanks,
HC
