i recently moved a
server into our DMZ and read a ipswitch knowledgebase article which suggested to
open 2 ports between the whatsup monitoring station and the monitored
server
tcp 139
(netbios)
tcp 445
(smb)
whatsup is now
showing the various services running on this machine but i keep getting alerts
that a particular service goes down and then up again within a
minute.
i disabled checking
that particular service and now another service shows as down and
up.
does anyone monitor
services / servers sitting in the DMZ and which ports have you opened
up?
