Is there any capability within WUP, to provide distributed Event Log monitoring. Basically, in the past, I have noticed that if I enabled event log monitoring on a couple of servers, WUG would pretty much slow down. I am thinking this happened, due to the fact that WUG has to go through all of the event logs, and then send out an alert based upon the monitoring configuration. Kind of an access-list config on a Cisco router.
So anyways, one way to reduce this overhead would be to provide distributed event log monitoring. Take a couple of WUP servers, and set them up to just process event logs, and when a match occurs.. forward the alert processing job to a central server(almost like a SNMP trap forwarder). Is this possible in WUP?? Thanks, hc -+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+- This message is for the named person's use only.
