I have also experienced exactly what you
described. There is something funky about the emf files that the icons are
based on. I think there is some kind of weird file locking that goes on or
something. I noticed that it happens after file browsing to our WhatsUp machine
from a remote machine using an account name that is in the administrators group.
For example, it happens when browsing to C$ on the WhatsUp machine using the
administrator account, or browsing to a manually configured share or drive map in
the same way. The way around it was to not use accounts in the
administrators group for browsing or for drive maps. Robert Kent UITS Network Engineering From:

[mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Steve Warnock We
upgraded our hardware and OS to Windows 2003 this week on our What’s Up
Gold
v8.x box. Ever since we have a
handful of the Container and Subnet icons go BLANK (NOT
BLACK). It does not blank out ALL of them just some the
container and subnets. Usually if I exit Whats Up
they
will come back for a couple of hours. The
alerts and green to red effects still work on these icons, they just
don’t show the picture anymore. I replaced the
emf and dse files thinking that they corrupted somehow but it does not make
sense to me why just some of the container and subnet icons do this.
Anybody
know what I did wrong on the move? Steve
