Hi Herbert,

You know, we have an Asterisk PBX as well and I was just playing with how we could best monitor it the other day.

Maybe we could build a WhatsUp plug-in that would make a synthetic SIP connection to a remote pc running a softphone every 60 seconds, that might do the trick.  If the call fails, the icon in WhatsUp changes color.

My developers tell me it would be quite a bit of work.  Would anyone buy it?

For those of you interested, Asterisk is a freeware PBX: www.asterisk.org.  It is awesome.

Subject: [WhatsUp Forum] Monitoring
SIP Port

Afternoon,

Would anyone happen to know how to setup WUG to monitor the SIP port

(5060) on an Asterisk Server.  As far as I know I would have to send an auth

request to the port, but I am not sure how to set this up.  Any help in this

matter would be appreciated

regards

Herbert Ascencio.
