If it's the number I think you're looking for, you can use the MIB browser that comes with WhatsUp to query the device directly. In the "net tool" (tools > net tool) click on the SNMP tab, then browse to the SysObjectID node (What = 1.3.6.1.2.1.1.2)and do a query (click start). What returns is what to put into the Device Object ID property to allow WhatsUp to correctly identify the device when it does an auto-discovery. And as far as I know, it's not used for anything else other than auto-discovery.
