I have the correct community strings set in the device properties. It appears that the snmp active monitor does NOT inherit the community sting from the device but uses the generic "public" by default. I will have to verify this with a packet trace unless someone from Ipswitch can confirm if I am right or wrong about this!

Is there anyway of changing the community string used by the SNMP active monitor?  I assume it uses the default of "public".

We have changed all our stings to something else at our servers for security, but everytime WUP polls the services, an Authentication Error trap is generated!
