Yes,  this definitely is a concern for us as well.    In Whats Up Gold it seemed to cause A LOT of timeouts resulting in the icons starting to change when the device was really there and operational.   One thing I did in Gold to try to counter act this was to space out the polling times of the maps  at odd intervals which seemed to help some although you cannot do this in 2005/2006. 

 

I have starting testing this in 2005 (now 2006) but have not had enough tests yet to form an opinion if it is better at not flooding the network.   

 

How many devices are you running when this happens?  We are running about 2600 devices and really did not have much of a problem until we got above 2000.

I just ran the upgrade on my WUP 2005 (my testing version as I still do not run it in production)

 

But one major concern is that all the monitors launch at once flooding my network.

 

Does anyone else have this concern?
