Question/Problem:
What does this error, "failed to connect to
Gatehost" mean? Answer/Solution:
"Failed to connect to Gatehost" is an
entry in the debug log for a failed SMTP Mail notification. It means that there
is a block to port 25 through some gateway (such as a firewall) that is
preventing the WhatsUp Gold machine from sending mail to the SMTP server. This
message also occurs when there is no SMTP daemon running on the SMTP server. You can
use telnet to see if an SMTP server answers on port 25: Start |
