Well, 'Bulk Field Changes' is what I would suggest whenever you
want to do something on multiple devices. When I did, there is a
way to add or remove monitors, but not the action for the
monitor. BFC does allow for add/remove of Action policies, but I
believe that applies to the device level, not the monitor level
actions. The only other way that would work would be an SQL
script to make the changes. Sorry, I'm no SQL guru, and cannot
help there.

Can this be done globally? Wouldn't like to modify ping for 1000
servers.

Double click the device to get to Properties, then select the
Active
Monitors, double click the one you want and click the Actions
category.
Add the action you want and click OK until back to console.

Don't forget that every device also uses the 'Implicit Action
Policy'
and whatever notifications it has set. I've made mine completely
empty
(no actions) so I have to add notifications, if I want that
device to do
something.

You may want to remove the Device level Actions or leave them if
there
are other services that you want to trigger actions, that are
different
than what you have on this service.

And look at adding an Action on the individual service, if you
want to
know when that particular service on that device goes up/down.

Look at your percent variables for your notifications.

Subject: [WhatsUp Forum] Service Down

Is it possible to have a notification sent saying 'Service XXX
down on
Server (server)' instead of saying Server Down.. The reason is
that we
have several services on one box & the only service that dies is
HTTP
(ping is still up) and the notification says that the server is
down. I
do still want it to report 'Server Down' ONLY if ping is down
though.
