see what points people are making), but I just wanted to jump in here and
clarify that "<b><i>OMG!</b></i>" has exactly the same status in the spec
right now as "<img/>" does. So if what we do for "<b><i>OMG!</b></i>" is
acceptable, then I don't really understand what the proposal is.
Quite likely I read the part of the spec dealing with the "list of
active formating elements" too quickly. My mistake.
