Frank, revision 461888 from you is what I really need: to be able to use an AjaxSubmitButton without form validation. The other revision 462460 is not really necessary as it breaks backwards compatibility. It's up to you but unit tests, extensions and examples may have to be fixed if you also take the "Reworked link hierarchy" patch. I'm sorry if the issue title is not very meaningful.
