Martijn Dashorst commented on WICKET-152:
-----------------------------------------

>From xhtml 1.0 strict:

<!ELEMENT script (#PCDATA)>
<!ATTLIST script
  id ID #IMPLIED
  charset %Charset; #IMPLIED
  type %ContentType; #REQUIRED
  src %URI; #IMPLIED
  defer (defer) #IMPLIED
  xml:space (preserve) #FIXED 'preserve'
  >

Same for transitional.

ID is a valid attribute for a script element.

      <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"; lang="en" xml:lang="en">

Foo

Validates. HTML 4 doesn't support the ID though

When I put in the $ into the script id I get the following error:

Error Line 5 column 18: character "$" is not allowed in the value of attribute
"id".

> With automatic multi window support enabled, Wicket is adding an id attribute
> to the script element that contains a character that prevents XHTML
> validation. For example,
>
> exhibits the problem as valid XHTML disallows the $ within the id attribute.
