https is also available for others, you just can't commit without the
account. It didn't ask me for a userid/password when I checked it out,
only when I committed.

Just read here:

http://sourceforge.net/svn/?group_id=119783

it says:

"Our subversion repository has been moved to the Apache Incubator
subversion repository for our incubation at Apache. As a result we have
shut down access to the SF.net hosted repository. To check out the
latest in wicket-2.0 development (requires java 5), use:

svn co https://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/incubator/wicket/trunk

To check out the latest in wicket-1.x development (requires Java 1.4), use:

svn co
https://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/incubator/wicket/branches/wicket-1.x";

This should be using "http://"; URLs, as https is only available to folks
with Apache accounts - all anonymous access is over http.
