looks like i checked something i shouldnt have as part of a refactor i was
working on last friday. matej will be checking in the rest of it
momentarily.

Exactly. The RefreshingView is wrapped in a Panel, and *that*
panel is added to the AjaxRequestTarget. Shall I change something
in my code to make it work without touching Wicket sources?
