you have to understand how frustrating this is.

it happened when MVEL came out and now its happening with t5. our users
read
about something new and shiny and then post emails like yours to the list
without doing any research. so what happens then? it us, the core
developers, who have to go out and spend our time doing the research. our
user list has about 500+ users, and there are less then 10 core
developers,
its not a good ratio to be on the receiving end of. we already spend _a
lot_
of our personal time helping our users with wicket, but when it comes to
these theoretical comparisons it just gets annoying.

it wouldve been much nicer if you did the research and provided an initial
comparison yourself, is that too much to ask for/expect in your view? then
someone from the core devs would fix whatever they thought was faulty. but
your message really sounded provocative/trolling.

My post was intended to elicit a response to help keep people interested in
Wicket rather than straying to a competing frameworks - just expressing a
concern about what could happen to some, not to me, and knew that you guys
would be the best at addressing. You didn't actually have to research &
respond but I'm glad you did. Since it is helpful to you and makes my posts
less scary troll-like, I'll do as you request. :-)
Perhaps you can agree that this would have been a better ending line in your
first post "it wouldve been much nicer if you did the research and provided
an initial comparison yourself" or even have had your entire post been
"Please do the research and provide an initial comparison yourself then
someone from the core devs could fix whatever they thought was faulty."

Thanks,
Jon
