Either Jon still has my email address blocked or he's actively ignoring me. In either case, it's ticking me off.
I've put a lot of effort into Wicket recently, contributing both patches and Wiki entries. The least I expect back from the team is some sort of acknowledgement.
I don't expect you guys to agree with all of my suggestions, but at least let me know if you like them or not and why. I absolutely hate it when I suggest something, no one bothers replying, then a few days later someone else suggests the exact same thing and suddenly it's the coolest thing since sliced bread and *they* get credit for it. Or when I suggest something, one of the team members agrees it's a good idea, then a second one comes out against it (without an explanation, just saying they don't like it) and suddenly the first guy changes his mind and says "You're right, it's a bad idea" with absolutely no justification for why the idea was good before but suddenly it's not. I don't mind people being against my ideas if they give good reasons for it but writing them off without putting any thought into it really does not make any sense. It just feels like one group member scratching the other's back.
I mean... come on people... this isn't the way to build a good community. I like Wicket and I appreciate all the hard work you guys put into it, but it really wouldn't hurt for you guys to open things up a bit.
To be clear, I'm not writing this letter to tell anyone off but rather to try to voice some constructive criticism.
