Summary: 1.2 output markup id:s incompatible with CSS
Initial Comment:
Usage of colons (:) within wicket-generated markup
id:s seems to break CSS layouts that use id:s, even
if they are set to match the Wicket format
(e.g. "form:panel:field") .
This is a blocker for e.g. builtin-Ajax apps using
CSS.
In a quick look at the CSS spec, the colon does not
seem to be allowed.
The colon is now (beta1) hardcoded in
wicket.Component class:
/** Separator for component paths */
public static final char PATH_SEPARATOR = ':';
Suggestion: default to underscore ("_") and provide
an API to change this
