On the Spring framework, as far as I know, it is fully possible to use Spring and Wicket together. But I wouldn't use all of Spring's features. As I understand it, Spring isn't a presentation framework, but almost a new application server. At the very least it is a full blown service provider utilizing the infamous dependency injection or inversion of control to establish decoupling of the services. Using Wicket as a presentation framework doesn't prohibit the use of Spring in your application.
When is will you be done with Wicket in Action? ;)
I tried to convince Eelco to write such a book, but we don't seem to be able to find the time... :-)
However, we've started serious work on the manual today. You should be able to see some progression coming two weeks (after we've upgraded the wicket website to a new design).
