I 've now got an example ready which uses either the deployment
descriptor (web.xml; servlet 2.4) or Turbines CharSetMap to do the
Locale to character encoding mapping. The necessary changes to
Wicket-core are minimal.
1) Resouce.java: use of httpServletResponse.getWriter() instead of new
PrintWriter(httpServletResponse.getOutputStream())
2) Page.java: replace
// Set content type for page
cycle.response.setContentType("text/" + getMarkupType());
with
protected void handleResponseSetup(final RequestCycle cycle)
{
cycle.response.setContentType("text/" + getMarkupType());
(HttpResponse)cycle.response).setLocale(cycle.getSession().getLocale());
}
In order to support web app specific response setup (on page level),
the method is protected (and none final).
