Hi,
Can anyone think of a good reason for why we have render(Graphics2D) instead of BufferedImage render()? I ask because I'd like to modify RenderedDynamicImageResource so the user is responsible for generating the image and returning it. This would allow me to return indexed images so I can encode 8-bit GIFs or (hopefully) 8-bit PNG images. With the current RenderedDynamicImageResource implementation it is impossible to do this.
