Whoah dude, impressive technique! Years ago, I spent allmost all my playing guitar time (5 - 12 hours a day back then; pre-programming :)) practicing arpeggio's with a pick (Frank Gambale is famous for that). But after getting quick enough to impress other guitarists in the same town (certainly did not impress any girls I tell you), I found out that all that speedy stuff actually distracts from what music really is about. Just like your negative space remark in Wicket's vision document. Which is not to say that Steve Vai etc aren't great guitarists, but I prefer expression and song-composition to mere technique now.
