Summary: DropDownChoice doesn't fire onSelectionChanged()

Initial Comment:
If a DropDownChoice's selected value gets removed from
the underlying list of choices (which can be a
detachable model) then it should fire
onSelectionChanged() because visually the selection
changes from the removed value to "Choose One".

You can implement this by checking whether
getChoices().indexOf(object) returns -1 and then fire
this event.
