i'm starting to think this is too confusing. i like just wicket:link and app setting.

What is the difference between <wicket.link> and <wicket:autolink>?. Both surround a region, with <wicket:link> restricted to a single <a> inside? Why not use <wicket:link> which is an alias for <wicket:link autolink=true> and temporarily replacing the appSetting's default value.
