AJAX support is right next to supporting Javascript and CSS. Without proper Javascript support for components, AJAX support will be a real drag. Therefore I ask you to be patient and wait for us to finish 1.0, and give some proper thoughts to supporting Javascript and AJAX.
You could help by researching stuff and supplying a patch/contribution for AJAX support yourself. This would definately speed up your request.
