Gili, don't think that just because you are not directly insulting someone that they have no right to be angry with you and possibly say something to you that you find insulting. In your mind open source developers have an obligation to see that you are properly educated about all aspects of their project. In reality, top notch documentation and free support on a mailing list or forum is nice, and may certainly make one project better then another, but they are by no means a requirement of a successful project. I'm sure that this attitude is very difficult for developers to deal with and is probably what makes most of them react to you the way they do.
