As I mentioned, I'm on 1.1-b4. I haven't been able to get HEAD to compile yet with Maven.
I use wicket:head because I need the DatePicker.

1) Please try and move <wicket:head> before <wicket:border>
2) In your case I don't understand why you use <wicket:head> at all?
