It uses the native browser of the os by default. I've tested some AJAX enabled wicket components with eclipse's browser, so your implementation should work just fine. Just now i'm busy but i'll take a deeper look at it later this week. This feature is scheduled for 0.4.0 version but if its easy to drop in, it may get to the 0.3.0.
