(wicket 1.2.0) does not encode cookie value as ASCII String. Thus value persistent of FormComponent
does not work properly when user input Chinese, Japanese... etc.
Both URLEncoder or Base64 are good approach to solve such problem.
I will create a RFE if it is not in 1.2.1
