Its a shameless hack, but you could try it in a setTimeout. Or possibly, target.appendJavascript("Wicket.Window.unloadConfirmation=false;window.location.reload()") Otherwise, I believe the semantics of onClose make it necessary for the modal to be around until onClose returns.
