--------------------------------------------------

The Apache HTTP Server project has been given the opportunity to shape the
program of a one-day track at !ApacheCon North America 2010, held November 1-5
in Atlanta. This page serves to gauge the interest of the community, both
potential speakers and audience. If there is something you would like to come
to !ApacheCon and see, add it to the Session Requests section below. If you
would like to present a session, add the topic and a brief description to the
Session Proposals section below.

- The Apache HTTP Server Project Management Committee will consider the
requested and proposed sessions starting March 21st. We have a deadline of
April 16th to come up with a full program to propose to the planning committee.

We can propose to the !ApacheCon planning team six one-hour sessions in our
track. Adding a session request or proposal does not guarantee that it will be
proposed, or that the planning team will accept it, or anything else you might
imagine. Any logistic or organizational considerations are solely handled by
the !ApacheCon planning team and/or the conference production company.

- Abstract:: Enterprise installations of Apache are particularly attractive
targets for malicious attacks, including Denial of Service, defacement, theft
of data or service and installation of zombies or viruses. Hardening your
deployment against such attacks calls for some special techniques and tactics.
Come to this session to learn about attack detection techniques, server
protection, secure deployment of multiple servers, configuration of firewall
“demilitarized zones”, and judicious use of SSL encryption. How do you deploy
an off-the-shelf application that insists on writing to the file system? And
what steps do you take to securely deploy Apache on Windows or UNIX? This
presentation will explore solutions to these very real situations.
