Weldjust won the best paper prize at CIKM (ACM Sixteenth Conference on Information and Knowledge Management) in Lisbon, Portugal. I just had a short glance at the paper. Their work seems to apply Machine Learning techniques in order to improve the coverage and quality of Wikipedia. Regarding the relationship with Wikipedia they say: The DBpedia system which extracts information from existing infoboxes within articles and encapsulate them in a semantic form for query. In contrast, KYLIN populates infoboxes with new attribute values.
