Dear All WikiResearchers,

Recently our team has been working on a brief perspective piece
<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1afaK8YFITdXAuaehtFTiC3X14LR85nnz-jOw5UjliYM/edit?tab=t.a32i8s2fnial>
that is a general call for more academic engagement with Wikimedia, also as
a follow on to Dariusz Jemielniak's recent pieces.

We will (hopefully) be hosting an unconference at WikiWorkshop to discuss
this paper, and this is in a general call for co-authors and signatories to
join the paper and effort. and an effort to get the paper out there before
so we can talk about it then. The idea is that the more people are on the
paper, the more powerful it is, and also everyone can get symbolically paid
through the citations to it rather than only a few of us. and ideally
everyone gets a nature paper ;) Obviously we also want to take in your
suggestions and cite any projects that you think are relevant.

This is part of our ongoing efforts to make it more valu-able to be part of
the WikiResearch community, and to increase the sustainability of the
community in general. Another topic I would like to talk about at the
unconference is building grantmaking networks.

All feedback welcome, See you there,

Brett Buttliere, phd
