Hello:
About "English is the dominant language of research publication"

Outside English speaking countries, especially in Spanish-speaking countries,
this is identified as major problem, not just a simple fact.

English is the dominant language because everyone consults and cite paper in
English due to the language barrier. But there are many index, papers and
documents in Spanish and other languages as important as the English papers
that are not in the English index because English speaking researchers don´t
understand them, so they don´t consult and cite them.

I don´t know the authors of the paper, but to my mind that conclusion is very
important. Maybe the most important.

Greetings

I took a look at the paper and I feel the need to comment on one "conclusion"
in it.

"Of the 8,739 papers published, 7,640 (87.4%) of them were published in
English. Spanish is the second most common language, with 244 papers in
Spanish. This is a huge difference and again suggests that Wikimedia is
primarily anglophone."

I don't think that this should be said, even if the next paragraph somewhat
tempers the reasoning. Like it or not, English is the dominant language of
research publication. International conferences are nearly all English. Even
many theses from non-English-speaking countries are written in English. So it
is completely unsurprising that most papers examined are in English. It would
be astonishing if this was not the case.
