I haven't mentioned anything on it, but I started a little project I
call Adoption 2.0 to try and make adoptable wiki more noticeable.
http://www.wikia.com/wiki/Adoption_2.0
The idea is much like that of Featured things. The {{Adoption 2.0}}
template is multilingual, and instead of taking a place on the page, it
adds a message to the upper right. But it works differently than the old
Adoption template.
((Please don't go randomly tagging pages with {{Adoption 2.0}}))

The idea is this:
Once in awhile find a random adoptable wiki in the Adopt this wiki category.
For example, Dark Tower. The text on the page is:
'''The Dark Tower''' Wikia is based on the /Dark Tower/ series by
Stephen King detailing the realms, characters, objects, and creatures
encountered by Roland Deschain of Gilead and his ka-tet.

You'd tag it like this:
{{Adoption 2.0|'''The Dark Tower''' Wikia is based on the /Dark Tower/
series by Stephen King detailing the realms, characters, objects, and
creatures encountered by Roland Deschain of Gilead and his ka-tet.}}
If you need to change the language of the template (Using Requests'
Multilingual template trick):
{{Adoption 2.0|'''The Dark Tower''' Wikia is based on the /Dark Tower/
series by Stephen King detailing the realms, characters, objects, and
creatures encountered by Roland Deschain of Gilead and his ka-tet.|en}}

It's a very interesting trick I came up with using the new DPL. That
text still shows up on the page, but in addition to that, the page has
the adopt notice in the upper right, and if you go to [[Wikia:Adoption
2.0]] is it listed there as the new one at the top. In fact, I haven't
found a good place for it yet, but once you place that tag on a new
page, it becomes the current featured Adoptable wiki (chosen randomly
with no specific reason, as long as it has a good intro).

The idea is to place an Adoption 2.0 spot somewhere in the Community
Portal or some other public area, and once in awhile tag another one of
the Adoptable wiki with the Adoption 2.0 template and have it become the
new featured one. Basically putting a random adoptable wiki out in the
open to see if anyone wants to adopt it.
