I'm not sure if this stemmed from another discussion or not, but the first message I saw on this subject only stated that the Wikia home page's CSS doesn't validate. If someone is experiencing a rendering problem on the home page and invalid CSS is thought to be the culprit, please ping me about it.
Otherwise, if Timothy was just stating that the home page has invalid CSS, it's true. It also has invalid HTML - a bunch of it. HTML and CSS are very forgiving languages, as opposed to something like PHP which won't render a page if a semicolon is out of place, so it's easy to build, build, build and then discover a bunch of validation errors. There are coding standards that developers and browser manufacturers absolutely should adhere to, but in practice, it doesn't always work out that way. Personally, I'm a stickler for clean, readable code and W3C validation (the guys who write the standards). There's nothing evil about code that validates, and nothing evil about code that doesn't. But we'll certainly shoot for the former.
