Is it correct that mediawiki still does not recognize browser language when
figuring out display language for users who are not logged in? Does it
always display in the wikia's default language regardless of browser
setting? It seems to be the case judging from behavior with IE and
Firefox. I wonder if there is any configuration setting so that the
language setting will assume browser language if the user is not logged in.

Genealogy wikia is english base language, but has multilingual templates
using MediaWiki messages ( {{int:messageName}} ). However, it appears this
will be useless for visitors since they will get english in their search
hit.

Rationale: Unlike other most other wikia, it is preferable that ours be
multilingual because of the connectedness of generations across language
boundaries. To segment the database into languages would create huge
replication nightmares, so the problem domain really wants one database.
The central data is statistical, which is fortunate because we can trivially
"Skin" the localized table headings on top of the data to create usable
pages in tons of languages.

So is there some flag / configuration I can request so that the engine will
display UI using browser set preferred language?

Thanks
