I'd like to ask a bit of a question of the techs.

/What's the benefit of upgrading to MediaWiki 1.12?/

Checking on the issues with the upgrade recently I realized that many of the new features for Wikia that I listed are actually not included in the revision that Wikia has. I hunted down what ones, and made an edit to the page. This is the new list of new features:

I hardly think that {{filepath:}} and a tweak to the title on history pages is enough to warrant going into an unstable alpha version of MediaWiki.

My proposal is one of two options:
* Revert to MediaWiki 1.11.0 - Why? It's more stable than an alpha version, there are less bugfixes to apply because you are running code which had new bugs added before your revision but fixed after, and it still has all the good features that we are seeing from the upgrade. * Upgrade further to a more recent revision of MediaWiki 1.12a - Why? We're missing nearly every advantage of 1.12 over 1.11 on our current revision and a more recent revision will be much more valuable for Wikia, more recent revisions also contain an alteration to the Parser, this alteration is the one that Angela mentioned that reduces the load that ParserFunctions and Templates cause, and could potentially reduce the current issues with a MW1.12a memory leak.

Just my thoughts...
