I just wanted to give everyone a quick update. We are closing in on the issue that is causing 1.12 to be slower than 1.10. The way images are handled changed between 1.10 and 1.12 and the original mediawiki 1.12 version had a bug which we believe we've identified. Eloy and Nef in Poland are working on it now (it's 8 minutes till new year's for them). After we have a fix, we'll be testing internally and on a few wikis... if this is the cause, we'll release to the entire site shortly. If it's not the cause, we'll still be working on it.
