There is always Semantic Forms:

From what I get, it allows for the creation of user defined forms. And
use of those forms in editing certain pages.
As SMW has been recently released, it's likely Semantic Forms will to.
So it would always be possible to create a form with the information
bits you want on pages and that would abstract the entering of the data.

If there's going to be a "higher

opinion on whether certain pre-processing whenediting is likely.
This is really only at the idea stage for now, so the possibility of
that happening can't be used to justify current style policies on an
external site.
Ideally, all wikis would have an additional edit box for all the stuff
that isn't the article text (interlanguage links, date formatting
links, templates, categories, quality tags, etc), but I'm not aware of
any ongoing development work that would make that liekly in the near
future.
