After talking in #wikia on irc before, Sannse suggest posting to wikia-l. Would it be possible to have this extension : http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:LightboxThumbs : tweaked an installed?
I say tweaked as by it's default install, not everyone would like it. But tweaked? Well that would make it fantastic. If when used you need to pipe in it's effect, IE: <gallery|lightbox></gallery> then that would be super, also fixing it's bug which clearly states it doesn't actually resize images would be great too. I ask as on aoc.wikia.com for example we have several various galleries with 15+ images. Sure we could break them out on to seperate pages but then that just compounds the issue. For example. 15 Images. To look at a larger version of all 15 images, you have 30+ clicks. 1: Click Image - View Image, if you like it and available, click to view LARGER version if not. 2/3: Click back 4: *repeat from step 1* That's a lot of clicking, if you're like me and do actually look at larger versions of gallery images on things you are interested in, it gets annoying. To clarify, this extension won't make it the same process, it actually turns the gallery into an overlay slideshow, example site of this in place *(not on a wiki, but using the lightbox2 coding). *http://www.justinbarkhuff.com/lab/lightbox_slideshow/ Hovering over the image, gives you a next/previous option *(and it looks funky as it resizes)*. If this could be considered, that would be *very* awesome. As a note, at the bottom of the extension page, there is this link : http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/User:Alxndr/Lightbox2_hack It's a hack to make it resize the images correctly when clicked, which is a Lightbox2 useage, standard Lightbox I believe doesn't do this, but as always, you can edit a system before installation. And one last thing for Jack_Phoenix, he'd love to have http://mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:Nuke installed. I concur, it'd be handy, not for me right now but other wiki's who get hit with the spam bot. Probably more so for janitors and staff maybe? If you got to this part of the e-mail.
