Thanks Angela. I think you are suggesting that I go to www.wowwiki.com and log 
on,
then go to my talk page (which doesn't seem to exist) on that web site??

However, I'm not a very trusting kind of guy. Why would I enter my username and
password on a web site that I don't recognise!?

Anyway, the problem has gone away. I had tried logging off Wikia, closing all
browser windows, and logging on again. And visiting my talk page on my wiki. No
effect - I still got the wowwiki notification. However, I've just done it one 
more
time, and there is no notification, so the matter is resolved for me.
