Meta interwiki links shouldn't appear as language links and simple english,
personal opinions aside, is considered a "language" in this regard.
Personally, I think the default of "languages" is fine, but that's just my
opinion. If a change in the core message isn't done, you can always ask enwiki
to change it, and see if there's consensus for that (there's always the chance
it'll get changed in core, and enwiki decides to keep "languages" as their
