Summary: Importing a page shouldn't attribute the edits to local
                    usernames
           Product: MediaWiki
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: All
        OS/Version: All
            Status: NEW
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: Normal
         Component: Export/Import
        AssignedTo: [email protected]
        ReportedBy: [email protected]

When a page is exported from an old wiki and then imported into a new wiki, the
edits are attributed to the username at the new wiki. This is bad because the
username at the old and new wikis may not represent the same user (indeed it
may not exist at all at the new wiki). It's also in some sense _wrong_, an
inaccurate historical record: even if that user exits, they didn't make those
edits at that time, at the new wiki.

It should be clear that edits were made elsewhere after they are imported, e.g.
convert from User:Foo to User:[email protected] (and maybe link there too?).
