1) Please remove Bamini typing scheme from Narayam for Tamil. It is a long way
from being ready for live rollout. We were testing it in translate wiki and
filing bug reports. But before fixing the open issues, it was rolled out
live!!. At current state it is only about 70% correct. There is a open bug
32578 with preliminary issues list but it has not been attended to. But that is
not all, there are more issues being reported by users. Users are complaining
we are changing the Bamini typing standards to faulty ones (and being bugzilla
noobs they dont know whom to complain to).
2) I see Tamil inscript has been enabled in translate wiki. I guess going by
past behaviour you will do a live release for it too without informing us. As
far as we know, no one uses Tamil inscript keyboard among wiki community. (Its
usage is virtually nil among Tamil population). We dont know what bugs/issues
are in it too. So dont roll it out before we can (if we can) find people to
test it, file bugs and they are fixed.
We are not in a race to increase the number of layouts. We are interested in
providing typing layouts that actually work and are actually needed by the
community. We have been repeatedly raising this point - dont roll anything out
to production without proper testing.
