Summary: In log, link to diff of edit/log entry for action when
edit/action succeeded
Product: MediaWiki extensions
Version: any
Platform: All
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
Severity: enhancement
Priority: Normal
Component: AbuseFilter
AssignedTo: [email protected]
ReportedBy: [email protected]
CC: [email protected]
Items in the abuse log are triggered by individual edits (or other actions),
yet the log does not link to the edit (or action) that was responsible. One has
to go into the user contributions or page history and find which of the edits
in there matches the diff they saw in "details" view, usually a simple task,
but always an unnecessary one. There's an ID for the abuselog entry but it's
not the same as the revision ID or log ID. It seems to me that the #1 reason
someone is going to be viewing abuse log details is to find "log-only" things
that have to be acted upon. So for edits, they need some link to the diff page
or revision page for the edit, from which they can access edit, rollback and
undo links (and any other links that might be there). Even just sticking the
revision ID/log ID of the edit/action responsible in there would be better than
nothing.
