There is still work to be done to enable full support for source numbers, though work for TOC numbers is pretty much complete. It is unlikely you will be able to use this on wikipedia for a good while, still. I hope to find time to complete the rest of the necessary work this summer when I have more time. If you want to finish the work, please do so :). The related bug to get a hook into template inclusion is what is required.
